The pure herbicide acetochlor is light yellow liquid and the original drug is deep red. Also known as 2-Chloro-N-(ethoxymethyl)-N-(2-ethyl-6-methylphenyl)acetamide, this product is a broad-spectrum, highly efficient and selective bud soil treatment chemical and it is mainly used for spraying crops after sowing and before emergence. Absorbed by the shoots of grass weeds and roots & shoots of broad-leaved weeds, this product can interfere with nucleic acid metabolism and protein synthesis so shoots, young roots stop growing and eventually die. In soil, the effect of this product can last about 2 months.

This product can be used for control of annual grass weeds and some broadleaf weeds in soybeans, corn, cotton, vegetables and orchards. If it is used in sandy soils, the amount can't be too high, whereas the dose can be increased in clay soil. Drug injury to seeds could happen if this product is used in high temperature or before rain. And this product shouldn't be used on wheat, millet or watermelon because they are sensitive to this product. The dose of this product is different depending on the soil water content. Dosage should be low for high soil water content and vise versa.
